Guest access:
Guests have private access to the entire house and grounds, including the deck, hot tub, firepit area, driveway, and marked footpaths. A locked owner’s closet and utility space are not accessible during the stay.
Parking:
The gravel drive accommodates three standard vehicles. During winter, keep cars together near the house so our plow service can clear the lower drive. Street parking is not permitted.
Checkout checklist:
Check-out is by 11 AM. A few quick tasks before you go help us keep the house ready for the next guests.
Load and start the dishwasher, and hand-wash anything that doesn’t fit.
Remove any opened food from the fridge and pantry.
Place used towels and bath mats in the bathroom tub.
Leave used bed linens on the beds—no need to strip them.
Bag all trash and recycling and take it to the outdoor bins.
Make sure the firepit is fully extinguished and cool.
Replace the hot tub cover and fasten all of its clips.
Set the thermostat to 62°F in winter or 75°F in summer.
Turn off lights, the TV, the fireplace, and small appliances.
Close and lock every window and door.
Take one last look for chargers, jackets, and hiking gear.

Other things to note:
The Hemlock House sits in a living mountain landscape. You may see deer, bears, insects, snow, mud, and quickly changing weather. Keep food indoors, secure trash, supervise pets and children, and follow posted fire guidance.
Quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM. The house is not suitable for events, parties, or unregistered guests. Smoking and vaping are not allowed indoors. Approved dogs should remain leashed outdoors and never be left unattended.
In winter, four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is strongly recommended. We maintain the drive and walkways, but snow and ice are natural parts of an Adirondack stay.
